Beaches aren't exactly entertaining without the amenities, Admiral. We should just put in a holodeck. [Which might just be B'Elanna's hideous new project. She sighs.]

Has anyone found a stream, or river anywhere? What about wildlife?

[She's crouching as she talks, using a PADD to inspect some plants for edibility. Apparently it's not poisonous, but it doesn't look tasty. Muttered:] I almost miss Neelix.

[Thud thud thud goes the headache.] Building a lean-to big enough to sit under kills the point, [she said, testy.] It's supposed to be small, with enough space to lay down. This still isn't a five star resort, if you haven't noticed. No seats in the lean-to.

[Smarmy as ever, standing.] If you wanted non-rocky ground, why didn't you just say that?

[She is pausing to pinch the bridge of her nose very hard, because the temptation to punch his lights out is very, very high.] New plan. You shut up and follow me.

And these are both fundamental to our survival? [Sass sass sass.]

Exactly. Because if you don't shut up and follow, I might kill you.

[Now there is some logic he can follow.] In that case, lead on.

[Finally. :| She lapses into silence and walks for a while, eventually stopping by a big tree with a lot of brush around.] This should do.

[James looks at the area critically, analysing it.] This bit of land next to trees is different from the other bits of land next to trees?

[She is rolling her eyes skyward.] The brush is good insulation, the tree positions will protect against most heavy winds, and most importantly of all, yes, because I said so.

It could use some stools. Perhaps some nice white panelling. [Director hands! That's how you visualise these things, you see. He's a visionary.]

[And pinching the bridge of her nose. Again.] Do you remember the shut up and follow part, McCullen?

It didn't seem to be an important part of the plan.

Well now it's the most important part. Start gathering branches. Big ones, about this high. [She held her hand up to chest height, then gestured to the area around them.]

[...But that sounds like work.]

To your chest or my chest? [A very nitpick-y point, since...they are about the same height. But anything to hold off actually doing something.]

[If his hands aren't dirty by the end of port, she will be very disappointed.]

Chest. Height. [That is accompanied by a look that might actually kill him.]

[Gah! That look! It almost killed him.]

I suppose I could find a few matching that description.

[Cue staring at the ground.]

[It's a very dangerous thing. She's just staring at him before rolling her eyes.] You're not going to find any by just standing there.

Oh, now that's a shame. I'm not capable of walking and looking at the same time. I have a note. [Nods.]

[And that's just about the last straw. No, no - it definitely is. She doesn't laugh or snort or anything, she just hauls back a fist and punches at his nose.]

[After a stunned moment, there's a muffled shout, that is either 'Ow, my nose!' or 'Toe, lye snows!' As he's cupping his face, it's hard to say.]

What was that for?

[Only slightly more intelligible.]

[She still has her hands in fists, so another punch is entirely possible. But she's trying not to.] You are completely insufferable! Do you want to die out here?

[His speech is still muffled, and his tone irritated.] I haven't seen any animals about, and certainly no giant, glowing ants.

[Stupid ants.]

There are plenty of things that'll take advantage at night if you don't have a shelter or a decent fire. [An she's crossing her arms to keep from hitting him again.] Forget it. You can sleep out in the open.

[He'll cup his nose playing the victim for a moment.] Fine. What is it you want me to do?

What I told you to do ten minutes ago! Go fin some God damned branches!
